Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal was established in 1958 under the visionary leadership of the late Shri Vinayakrao Pandurang Patil, who previously served as the Minister for Co-operation and President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. The primary goal of the institution was to address the educational and economic challenges faced by underprivileged communities in the region. To fulfill this mission, the Mandal manages a wide range of educational facilities, including 148 primary and High schools (70), CBSE English medium schools (11), Sr. & Jr. colleges (53), Law colleges (02), Engineering colleges (02), Polytechnic (02), B.Ed. (01), MCVC (06), Pharmacy (01), hostels, and professional institutes offering courses in pharmacy, law, computer science, engineering, polytechnics, MBA, MCA and IT. A STEM education that can offer opportunities in a variety of roles in education and may provide you with skills that can translate in different workplace setting.

In recognition of its significant contributions to education and social reform, the Mandal was honored as an “Excellent Education Society” by the Government of Maharashtra in 2001. It has also organized prestigious events, such as the 77th Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan. Additionally, the institute conducts orientation programs, workshops, symposiums, and conferences to enhance the quality of teaching.

This leading educational institution in Marathwada was founded with the noble aim of dispelling ignorance through education, guided by the motto “Tamso ma Jyotirgamaya” — meaning “From darkness to light.” The region’s backwardness, a consequence of the Nizam’s oppressive rule, spurred a desire for progress after liberation.
